Launching the campaign
Getting started as an abolitionist is easy.
1. Get informed - knowledge will give you credibility and will help you to be a powerful voice for people waiting for freedom. Look under "Tools" for helpful links and the official LC2LC toolkit.
2. Speak up - During the historical fight against slavery, people talked about the issue in their homes, at their dinner tables, at their places of worship, in political and educational settings. It was hard to escape the discussion. The problem needs to be brought to light -- tell people what you know. Speak up and defend the rights of the poor and oppressed.
3. Do something - Launch Loose Change to Loosen Chains in your community, church or school. Buy responsibibly by purchasing Fair Trade and better than Fair Trade goods. Sponsor a child through Compassion International and help prevent child slavery.
